WELCOME TO CASP 2022 ISTANBUL

Dear colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 2nd International Conference and Exhibition on Corrosion and Surface Protection for Steel (CASP 2022) to be performed online on 25-26 May 2022. CASP conferences are organised by the Turkish Constructional Steelwork Association (TUCSA) in coordination with the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS).

Upon requests of potential participants, Key Dates have been revised as follows:

Main topics of the conference will include the advances in corrosion prevention, corrosion monitoring, corrosion-resistant materials, surface treatment and coatings, inspection and non-destructive testing, electrochemical methods, analytical techniques and microscopy, corrosion inhibitors and others. In addition, relations between corrosion and emission of greenhouse gases within the global warming issue will be covered in this conference as well.

There is a possibility to publish the presented scientific works on the special issue of the following journals and proceedings:

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  1. Registration of audiences for the online conference is free of charge. Registration is necessary before submitting abstract.
  2. Authors pay the publication fee of Euro 50 for one submission when its abstract is accepted, before submitting the full paper. If a paper has more than one author, only the author who will present the paper or poster will pay the publication fee.
  3. Authors pay the publication fee of Euro 30 for each of the second and other additional papers and posters.
  4. Authors submitting the full paper from Turkey pay in Turkish Lira according to the rate given by the organisation desk.
  5. The above mentioned publication fees are to be transferred to the following bank account.

Abstract Submission
Abstracts will be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Authors below.

INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS
This Instruction to Authors is to provide help for authors who wish to submit their abstracts which are necessary before full papers.

  1. Submission of the Abstract
    Authors are asked to submit abstracts in both PDF and MS Word format electronically through the Abstracts Submission webpage.
  2. Preparation of the Abstract
    General
  3. a. The abstracts must be submitted only in English and typed with single column and single line spacing on single side of A4 paper.
    b. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The title of abstract should be maximum 20 words. The whole abstract form including author information, affiliation details and title must not exceed 400 words.
    c. Arial font will be used in the abstract.
    d. The abstract should give clear idea about the paper to be submitted. Therefore, title should reflect the theme of the paper. Inclusion of the text is determined by the author. As advisory, the text may include the following paragraphs / sections;
      (1) Problem statement in general and in specific within the context of particular study
      (2) Purpose central theme of the paper (Aim and objectives) by also briefly mentioning about background, rationale and goals.
      (3) Brief information on data used (size of sample, type of data etc.)
      (4) Analytical tools & techniques used to process the data
      (5) Discussing the key results of the study including main message
      (6) Conclusion and the way forward
    e. The abstract should contain:
      (1) A title which well reflects the contents should not be capitalized, only first letters in capitals (15pt),
      (2) All the name(s) and affiliations(s) of authors(s) (11pt) and affiliation remarks (8.5pt.),
      (3) Item titles and text will be 11pt, the titles of each item will be bolt, sub titles will be typed by italic letters.
      (4) Key words will be 9pt.
    f. Abstracts will not be re-typed or corrected once they are submitted
    g. It is the author's responsibility to submit the abstract in perfect order with no errors in spelling or grammar.
    h. Authors can be co-authors on other oral presentations and authors on multiple poster presentations.

      Tables and figures: The tables and figures cannot be included.
      Review and Notification of Abstract Acceptance
      Scientific Committees decisions will be based upon evaluation of its scientific standard. The Scientific Committee will allocate each accepted abstract to the most appropriate form of presentation. After selection, all presenting authors will be sent full information regarding PowerPoint preparation, poster size, style and layout, as appropriate. All presenters must register to attend the Meeting.
  4. Copyright
    When the author sends its abstract to TUCSA for the 2nd Conference and Exhibition on Corrosion and Surface Protection for Steel, it is considered that the author accepts its Originality, and Copyright is transferred to TUCSA to publish the submitted abstract and/or article / full paper.

Notification of Abstract Acceptance

  • Scientific Committees decisions will be based upon evaluation of its scientific standard.
  • The Scientific Committee will allocate each accepted abstract to the most appropriate form of presentation. After selection, all presenting authors will be sent full information regarding PowerPoint preparation, poster size, style and layout, as appropriate.
  • All presenters must register to attend the Meeting.

Full Paper Submission

  1. Full papers will be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Authors below.
  2. Posters will be prepared;
  3. a. in pdf format to be shown at the CASP 2022 website screen at certain periods which will be announced in advance,
    b. in full paper format which will be evaluated by the science committee members, and will be included in the e-Proceedings.

INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS
This Instruction to Authors is to provide help for authors who wish to submit their papers in single column format.

  1. Submission of the paper
    Authors should send manuscripts in both PDF and MS Word format electronically by email or wetransfer to science@caspconferences.com or yesimgures@gmail.com
  2. Preparation of the manuscript
    General
  3. The manuscripts should be in English and typed with single column and single line spacing on single side of A4 paper. Submitted papers will be published in the e-Proceedings and the relevant journals once selected. Arial font will be used in the full paper. The first page of an article should contain:
      (1) A title of paper which well reflects the contents of the paper (15pt),
      (2) All the name(s) and affiliations(s) of authors(s) (11pt) and affiliation remarks (8.5 pt.),
      (3) An abstract of 100-250 words (9pt),
      (4) 5-10 keywords following the abstract, and
      (5) Footnote (personal title and email address of the corresponding author (required) and other authors' (not mandatory)) (10 pt.).
    Item titles will be 11pt, the titles of each item will be bolt, sub titles will be typed by italic letters (10.5 pt), other text will be 10pt. The paper should be concluded by proper conclusions, which reflect the findings in the paper.

    The normal length of the technical paper should be exactly 6 or 8 A4 pages. (single column format).

      Tables and figures: Tables and figures should be consecutively numbered and have short titles. They should be referred to in the text as following examples (e.g., Fig. 1(a), Figs. 1 and 2, Figs. 1(a)-(d) / Table 1, Tables 1-2), etc. Tables should have borders (1/2pt plane line) with the captions right before the table. Figures should be properly located in the text as an editable image file (.jpg) with captions on the lower cell. All of the original figures and tables are required to be placed at the suitable location in the text.
      Units and mathematical expressions:
      It is desirable that units of measurements and abbreviations should follow The International System of Units (SI) except where the other unit system is more suitable. The numbers identifying the displayed mathematical expression should be placed in the parentheses and referred to in the text as following examples (e.g., Eq. (1), Eqs. (1)-(2)). Mathematical expressions must be inserted as an object (set as Microsoft Equations 3.0) for Microsoft Word 2007 and later versions. Image-copied text or equations are not acceptable unless they are editable. The raised and lowered fonts cannot be used for superscription and subscription.
      References
      A list of references which reflect the current state of technology in the field locates after conclusions of the paper. For details to prepare the list of references and cite them in the text, authors are advised to follow the introduction and the sample list as shown in the template.
  4. Review
    All the submitted papers that have passed the preliminary check by the editors will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to judge their significance and originality. Those papers positively recommended by at least two Scientific Committee members will be finally accepted for publication in the CASP 2022 Conference Proceedings. The selected paper will also be published at the international indexed journals.
  5. Proofs
    Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author to correct any typesetting errors. Alterations to the original manuscript will not be accepted at this stage.
  6. Copyright
    Submission of an article to a CASP 2022 Conference implies that it presents the original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. On acceptance of the submitted manuscript, it is implied that the copyright thereof is transferred to the TUCSA and ECCS. The Agreement of Authorship, Originality, and Copyright Transfer must be signed and submitted.
